TEAM J-HAWK WRESTLING 

The Team J-Hawk Wrestling Program will hold a parent / wrestler meeting to review the program and meet the coaches on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 starting 6:00 PM for all ages   in the Middle School Commons.

K - 2nd GRADE PROGRAM:

Membership is open to all area students from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. All members will be taught the fundamentals of folk style wrestling through simple instruction and repetition. Our primary goal is to help kids acquire a love for the sport and master the basic wrestling skills. During practice, we will provide a learning atmosphere and develop team camaraderie. We will minimize the focus on winning, while stressing technique, effort and sportsmanship.

3rd - 6th GRADE PROGRAM:

This program is designed for the more serious-minded wrestler with more emphasis on competition and winning. Advanced techniques with more emphasis on live wrestling and match conditioning will be implemented.

7th - 8th GRADE PROGRAM:

This program is designed for the more serious-minded wrestler with more emphasis on competition and winning. Advanced techniques with more emphasis on live wrestling and match conditioning will be implemented. All 7th- 8th graders are eligible to participate in Team J-Hawk practices once the Middle School Wrestling season is completed. All wrestlers are required to be registered in order to participate.

TEAM J-HAWK WRESTLING PROGRAM | PK - 6TH GRADE:

  • DATES: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 10, 2025 - February 26, 2026
  • TIMES:
    • 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM (K-2nd Grade Program)
    • 6:15 PM - 7:45 PM (3rd-6th Grade Program) 
  • LOCATIONS:
    • Urbandale Middle School | Wrestling Room (7701 Aurora Ave)
    • Urbandale High School | Wrestling Room (7111 Aurora Ave)
    • DEADLINE TO REGISTER: November 9, 2025 
      • PLEASE NOTE: With Late Registration, there is NO Guarantee that the participant will receive a Program Shirt.
  • FEES:
    • $95.00 | K - 2nd Grade (TJH Wrestling Tournament Entry included)
    • $95.00 | 3rd - 6th Grade (TJH Wrestling Tournament Entry included)
    • $30.00 | Tuesday Night Practice (Competitive Team Practice - By Invite Only) - 7 Sessions, See Calendar for Specific Dates. 
      • Do not sign up for this practice if you don't meet either of these requirements below.
      • Competitive Team Registration requires 3 years of experience and/or a coach's invite. 
      • Only Available to students in 3rd - 8th grade.
    • $45.00 | Singlet Competition (Optional)
    • AAU Cards are now the responsibility of the families as they are not required for the Team J-Hawk Wrestling Invitational, but required for some tournaments.

TEAM J-HAWK WRESTLING PROGRAM | 7TH & 8TH GRADE:

  • DATES: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 5, 2026 - February 27, 2026
  • TIMES:
    • 6:15 PM - 7:45 PM (7th-8th Grade Program) - Labeled as Adv on Calendar.
  • FEES:
    • $70.00 | 7th - 8th Grade (TJH Wrestling Tournament Entry included)
    • $30.00 | Tuesday Night Practice (Competitive Team Practice - By Invite Only) - 9 Sessions, See Calendar for Specific Dates. 
      • Do not sign up for this practice if you don't meet either of these requirements below.
      • Competitive Team Registration requires 3 years of experience and/or a coach's invite. 
      • Only Available to students in 3rd - 8th grade
    • $45.00 | Singlet Competition (Optional)
